A natural Spring blooms with the hottest trends on the catwalk

Majid Al Futtaim - the leading shopping mall, retail and leisure pioneer across the Middle East and North Africa - hosts a series of Spring ‘Moms and Kids’ fashion shows drawing on the theme of nature: on March 19, 20 and 21.

City Centre Sharjah steps into Spring through fashion with a conscience and all things earthy. As the season’s fashion warms up, the City Centre honours motherhood and our mother-earth: nature.

To commemorate Mother’s Day, City Centre Sharjah will host the ‘Moms and Kids’ fashion show, three times daily, in the theme of Spring’s nature. Premium fashion brands --Accessori mr, Aeropostale, Aldo, BHS, Cotton On, Charles & Keith, Giordano, Giordano Junior, K Corner, Max Fashion, Mom & Me, Mothercare, Neck & Neck, Nine West, Passion, Riva, and Splash -- parade the hottest mix of Spring Summer trends. From abstract florals to military references, bold feminine cuts will sweep the catwalk: rich and earthy hand embroideries invoke a never-ending Spring.

For the opening show on March 19, City Centre Sharjah welcomes H.H. Sheihka Hend Bent Faisal Al Qassimi -- the devoted mother and successful entrepreneur -- as Guest of Honour in representing the Emirate of Sharjah.

Inspiring mothers of the region, H.H. Sheikha Hend is an accomplished artist, writer and fashion designer. Founder of a UAE-based fashion magazine, H.H. Sheikha Hend is also a committed philanthropist and incorporates humanitarian causes into her globetrotting lifestyle. Amidst her whirlwind tours around the world, H.H. Sheikha Hend manages to prioritise her family life whilst retaining multiple business interests. H. H. Sheikha Hend’s collection is inspired by her love of fashion and the feminine woman, evoking a style of Renaissance. With a vision to create clothing as a piece of art, her collection epitomises the feminine lines of a woman’s figure.

From March 19 to 21, three catwalk shows per day will allure stylistas of Sharjah. During the finale of the opening show, H.H. Sheikha Hend will embrace the Moms and Kids concept in presenting unique pieces from ‘House of Hend’ for the first time in the region. Embodying a Middle Eastern culture meshed with an international outlook, ‘House of Hend’ features hand-picked textiles and watery embroideries for adults and kids.

Spearheading a greener retail environment for Spring, an eco-friendly jute bag will be complimentary for shoppers on March 19 and March 21. The initiative encourages shoppers to sustain a greener environment in style.

H.H. Sheikha Hend said, “As we celebrate and honour our mothers, we can also honour the earth that sustains us, and pledge to do our best to preserve and protect this shared home”.

With the aim to keep Sharjah green, City Centre Sharjah celebrates Earth Hour on March 28, 2015. A pledge canvas titled ‘Love to Go Green’ is on display at the City Centre. Visitors who handwrite onto the board in the colour green will be rewarded with a fresh potted plant.

Every week up until March 31, shoppers can spend AED 299 at any retailers in City Centre Sharjah, for a chance to win AED 20,000. Spending AED 399 or more entitles visitors a chance to double their coupon and enter the weekly draw to win AED 20,000.
